We live about 4.5 hour drive from my family. My grandpa just passed away yesterday :( - he lived until 92, very full and beautiful life.

I’m devastated because I don’t think there is any possible chance of me making it to his service. Even if my baby is born tonight…. :(

I’m so so sorry to hear about your grandpa :(

Im also due the 17th and am currently missing a funeral about 6 hours from home, I feel so terrible about it but it would’ve been way too risky. It’s so hard but he will know you’re there in spirit, and hopefully you can be with your family asap. This baby will bring a lot of light during a very difficult time. So sorry ��

I'm sorry to hear about your Grandpa. My husband's Grandpa passed and the funeral was the day before my due date. He wasn't able to attend, but his mom sent a livestream for him to watch.

�� my grandpa passed away hours before my daughter was born. I was able to watch the funeral on livestream, but it was incredibly difficult to grieve alone postpartum. I hope you can find a way to heal ❤️

I’m so sorry, that’s really tough. Is there someone who could have you on FaceTime or WhatsApp video for the service so you can tune in from home? I know it’s not the same, but it would hopefully allow you to feel included and have some closure.

My grandpa passed away last year at 89. It was so devastating. Sending you lots of love ❤️

I'm so sorry for your loss. Weirdly enough, I can relate to what you're going through. I'm also due on June 17th and my grandma's funeral is on the 21st. Her funeral would only be about 30 minutes away from us but I'm just not sure how we would be able to go with less than a week old newborn. I know she would understand but my family does have some expectations that we will still attend so I'm just not sure what will happen yet. I'm sorry you are going through this!

I feel for you. I go for my scheduled c section on Monday and my grandfather went into hospice care yesterday and is only expected to make it 24-48 more hours. He lives 8 hours away and I haven't been able to be there to say goodbye, give him a hug or support my family due to complications with my pregnancy. My family will have the funeral a few days after he passes and I am anticipating still being in recovery from my c-section and even if I am out of the hospital, it being too far to drive with a newborn. I am hoping that my family will live stream the service for me so that I can participate at least in some way. I'm devastated that I can't be there but know he would want me to keep myself and baby safe above anything else.
