What better way for fans to celebrate the Celtics incredible season and making it into the NBA Finals than with a street party? Get ready Boston, it’s happening! Canal Street is car free for Celtics games.
It’s called “Playoff Hub On Canal Street” and Mayor Michelle Wu announced the return of the car-free zone for fans for home games in the NBA Finals. In Partnership with Downtown North Association and TD Garden, Boston Playoff Hub on Canal if free and open to the public before and during these NBA Finals games.
As reported in TD Garden News, extended restaurant patios will be open starting 3 hours before game time. Those patios will stay open until one hour after the games start. It’s a lot of info, I know. But hey it’s all on the City of Boston site, as well.
Let’s Go Boston! And Let’s Go TO Boston As Canal Street is Car Free For Celtics Games
Canal Street is car free for Celtics games and will be the place to be! According to WCVB TV, Mayor Wu said the city will, once again, be closing Canal Street to give us fans a purely pedestrian experience. Cars out, people in!
The street is open to the public for Games 1 and 2, which are home games for the Cs. But, they will also be open for fans during Games 3 and 4, which are games played in Dallas!
Also, just announced yesterday, for the first time ever, the TD Garden will host NBA Finals Watch Parties in Boston. This will allow Celtics fans to watch the away games in the Garden and cheer on the team from home.
