While the names are significant, the actual gameplay leaves much to be desired. The game struggled with poor controls, simplistic track designs, and lackluster presentation. To make it worse, Nickelodeon doesn't even come close to using enough of their franchises, leaving out Invader Zim, among others. However, Nickelodeon Kart Racers isn't a terrible option if players don't have a Nintendo platform and prefer a kart racer with familiar characters. It ultimately served as a stepping stone for future games in the series to improve upon, which they did, making the franchise much stronger over time.

You can make use of the co-op mode where friends can gang against a common enemy. Also, you can customize the carts by changing their colors and tires or installing a new engine and exhaust pipe depending on how you want it to perform.

There is plenty of game modes you can enjoy from Nickelodeon Kart Racers. The game is a series of eight cups each containing four races. There are also about 42 several free races, challenges, time trials, and boss races.

The time trial race, for instance, is a pacemaker that allows you to gauge the carts racing prowess by racing against ghost racers setting new records. The challenges have varying levels of difficulty but once completed successfully, you derive much satisfaction from this game.

Just like any other race, you have the chance to choose crew members. You can select a crew engineer and a mechanic for extra powers like invisibility, giving you an upper hand over your opponents.
