Plastic Free July at Your Workplace

Founded in 2011, Plastic Free July is a global commitment to reduce plastic pollution in the month of July. People across the globe commit to reducing plastic waste in their daily lives, either through a small switch or through a complete plastic elimination.

Your workplace is a great environment to try going plastic free. Here are a few tips to get started:

  • Remove single-use plastic cutlery, cups or plates from your staff kitchen or break room and replace with reusable alternatives
  • Install a permanent water filling station or bulk water dispenser
  • When possible, ask your procurement department to ensure supplies are not individually wrapped in plastic and write that policy into all ordering contracts
  • Remove plastic liners from recycle bins
  • Share the message among your staff and employees

To learn more and take the Plastic Free July challenge, visit PlasticFreeJuly.org.
