I’ll be honest, I really, really struggled with this book. I was tempted to ditch it 34% of the way through.
I have read most of the authors books and loved them all, but I just found this one boring and repetitive. The grammar was also not up to standard and there were a lot of name errors.
I was also sooooo frustrated at how gullible and idiotic Marianne was!!

this book could have been good but instead it was repetitive, the characters were predictable and feeble and dumb, and the plot got lost in the sauce.

Almost a 5-star

This was a great story and well-told. It would have gotten 5 stars from me except that I am one of those people who abhors reading a book with constant grammatical errors and typos (?) There are many proofreaders available in the world but apparently not a decent editor could be found for this one.

I have read several Kindle Unlimited books in need of an editor but this was by far the worst. There were so many grammar, spelling and name errors despite never allowing such errors to influence my rating, it became difficult to ignore glaring mistakes.
Marianne is married to Tom and they are in the process of divorcing because Tom has been unfaithful. They share a biological child, Mia, and an adopted child, Emma. There is a huge age gap between the children and Mia was resentful when they adopted Emma on Tom's insistence. Emma goes missing and Mia is suspected. Without giving away spoilers I found the adult characters weak or mentally unstable and the amount of repetition in the story beyond annoying. 2 stars.

God. awful.

This reads like an episode of COPS that takes place in a low rent trailer park on a particularly long night of drinking. The mother is an absolute moron and a MAJOR drama queen but she's only slightly worse than apparently everyone else in town. And WE. GET. IT. - you think your daughter is guilty! It doesn't have to be reiterated on every other page! Also, everybody was "about to crawl out of their skin" so much I started to think the book was about lizards. Please do yourself a favor and skip this one. *barf*

I loved the book but it needs to go back through editing. I found a lot of errors, some of which were switching names (Mia for Emma and vice versa) making it confusing in parts, otherwise I would have rated it a 5!

Outstanding Book

This is a crazy emotional ride. When you think you have figured it out. You haven't.

Exciting thrill ride! You won't be able to put this book down. You won't see the ending coming!

Emily, is a great writer! I will keep reading her book's! You won't be disappointed!

Badly in need of an editor

Mia and Emma's names were repeatedly mixed up throughout the book. There were several typos, too. The storyline of a mother allowing a stranger to turn her against her daughter so quickly is not very believable. I would be willing to give the author a second chance by reading a different book by her, but I really do hope she finds a reliable editor!

This book started out promising, but then took a nosedive. There was so much repetition and predictability. Marianne was such a clueless character. Disappointing.

Not for Me

There were so many grammar errors that I stopped reading at 38%. Wrong names, which drives me nuts, and just wrong words & duplicate words.

Please hire me to be your proofreader/editor because whoever’s job it is now should be fired.

Not my Sisters Keeper

I thought it was a pretty predictable read. I also noticed a lot of typos. Still somewhat predictable but still wanted to read til the end.

Needs editing

This book needs alot of editing. There are several mistakes where names are interchanged between the siblings and also other characters.

Predictable

Easy to see the connection early on so Marianne's attitude & actions were frustrating. The ending wrapped up with a nice little now as expected.

Not very interesting. Was predictable from near the beginning. It did have a small twist at the end but by that point I was bored of it.

The ending! I am still shocked by how it ended! Marianne totally annoyed me the whole way through. She needs to read more mysteries/thrillers. I mean REALLY, how dumb can you be?!? I had most of the mystery figured out early on, but I did not see that ending coming. Kind of abrupt. Definitely surprising!
