Joe and Jill Biden weren’t the only members of the family at a recent White House state dinner for the Kenyan president. Their granddaughter Natalie was also present – and turned heads with her chic choice of outfit. The composed 19-year-old wore a long-sleeved white dress with cut-outs at the neckline as she graced the red carpet alongside her date for the night, Rafael Hajjar, on May 23, per WWD.
Other VIP guests included Vice-President Kamala Harris, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Huma Abedin and Sean Penn, according to the same source.
The American president hosted the event for Kenya’s president William Ruto and his wife, first lady Rachel Ruto, at the White House in Washington DC.

Natalie Biden is President Joe Biden’s fourth granddaughter
Per People, Natalie is the fourth youngest grandchild among President Biden’s seven grandchildren. She was born on August 4, 2004, to Joe’s late son Beau and his wife Hallie.
In addition to Natalie, Joe’s other grandchildren include Naomi, Finnegan, Maisy, Robert, Navy Joan – Hunter’s child with an exotic dancer – and Beau Biden Jr, per People.
Her father died when she was just 10 years old
Natalie and her younger brother Robert lost their father Beau in 2015 after his battle with brain cancer, as reported by CNN. According to People, Natalie was just 10 years old at the time.
She loves celebrating Thanksgiving
According to an interview with Jenna Bush Hager on the Today show in 2021, Thanksgiving is a particularly special holiday for the Biden grandchildren. “Thanksgiving, I think, is all of our favourite holiday,” Natalie said in an appearance that also featured Ashley, Maisy, Finnegan and Naomi. “Because we usually go to Nantucket – Maisy and I and my grandpa and my uncle and my dad. We used to do a Polar Bear plunge in Nantucket in November.”
She supported her grandad’s 2020 presidential campaign
Back in August 2020, Natalie and her cousins Naomi, Maisy and Finnegan joined the final night of the Democratic National Convention in support of their grandfather’s presidential campaign, per Us Weekly.
“Pop told us that this election would be totally different from any other election, ever. He was worried how it would affect his kids,” she said at the time, per the magazine. “We just knew that he had to run, and we weren’t gonna take no as an answer.”
That same year, she did a virtual election Q&A with Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber and her cousin Naomi, according to Harper’s Bazaar. Viewers may be forgiven for doing a double take as Natalie appeared on the split screen with her strong eyebrows and wavy brunette locks, alongside the model – the pair looked more like sisters at some points during the chat.
She said her grandma Jill Biden is “mischievous”
Natalie has previously described her grandmother as being quite the funnywoman. In a virtual Democratic National Convention appearance, she said: “I would say she’s not your average grandmother. She’s a prankster, she’s very mischievous. When she goes on a run, sometimes she’ll find like a dead snake and she’ll pick it up and put it in a bag and she’ll use it to scare someone.”
She’s very private, but has plenty of fans on social media
As one of the younger Biden family members, Natalie has been described as a rising trendsetter in fashion and on social media. Per Us Weekly in 2021, she had over 1.5 million followers on TikTok alone, though it’s unclear whether she is still active on the platform.
She seems to be much more private than her cousins, but she has plenty of fans out there who have created fan accounts about her on Instagram and TikTok.
Who is Natalie Biden dating?
After Natalie brought her date – Rafael Hajjar – to the recent White House event, many netizens were quick to Google who exactly he might be. Per The Telegraph, he is said to be a former public schoolboy from London.
According to the same source, he attended some pricey schools in the UK and is now a student at the University of Pennsylvania with Natalie. It adds that he speaks English, French and Arabic fluently, and is believed to related to Fares Hajjar, a banker for Credit Agricole.
