Last year, I had the opportunity to work on a project that filled me with excitement 🤩, thanks to Annika Heiartz. She brought me to to develop designs for the launch campaign of their first store in the Netherlands. The launch took place on October 17, 2023, in Amsterdam. I'm thrilled to share the outcome of the project with you all. I am infinitely grateful to Annika for being my mentor at BABOR and for continuing to invite me to work with her in her new role. Undoubtedly, I hope our paths cross again in both professional and personal realms with this person I admire so much.

Dreams do come true, don't they? 😍 My first pattern design for textile! About a year ago I started working together with Kayros Swimwear, in order to create the illustrations for this season’s swimwear collection! Inspired by the beautiful atlantic region of Colombia, where I grew up most of my life. This collection aims to connect us with our roots and as I have previously shared with you before with my Bachelor's thesis, what can connect us more with our roots than the food and traditions we grew up with? It's been nearly a year in the making, and they're finally here! 🎉 I'm immensely grateful to Valentina Navarro and Monica Insignares for entrusting me with the opportunity to bring their vision to life through my artwork. It's truly a surreal feeling knowing that there are women in the Caribbean wearing pieces I've illustrated. And you can bet I'm eagerly looking forward to dressing them as well!💘

THE LOCAL PROJECT 💗 One of my favourite projects in which I have had the opportunity to be a part of. An event which has taken place in two cities very close to my heart, the city where I was born and the city where I grew up, Cartagena and Barranquilla. Created by a woman I admire deeply, Michelle Aleman Cure, 'The Local Project' is a fair created in order to support Colombian women entrepreneurs, with the intention of creating spaces for growth and encouragement. In this project I had the opportunity to create the logo for some of the editions of the fair. They are about to hold their seventh edition! and who doesn't love some female empowerment? If you are in Cartagena from the 4th to the 6th of August, don't hesitate to visit the fair!

I am thrilled to share my thesis project with the Linkedin community. I am incredibly proud and happy of everything I learned developing this project, which is also a project that is close to my heart. "The Taste of Memories" is an illustrated book, which attempts to narrate how the food of the culture in which we grew up helps us find our cultural identity when we migrate. What does the word "home" mean and at what age do we give meaning to this word? I would arbitrarily dare to say that every person on this planet is missing something. When we leave the country where we grew up, without saying it, we go through a certain kind of mourning that brings us the beautiful discomfort of leaving everything that was once all we knew. We mourn not being able to go to grandma's on Sundays for lunch or have mom bring us soup when we feel sick or the Christmas celebrations and meals that we love so much. When I start to think about all that we miss, I wonder if the feelings enter through the gustatory and respiratory tract, if we breathe life and with it enters what we love and is stored somewhere in our bodies. If what we have loved and lived is hidden in some part of our body, without a doubt, I believe that it entered through some sense and in this attempt of my first illustrated book I am going to share what I believe are the senses through which part of what we perceive as cultural identity enters in the first instance.

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to be part of an art exhibition organized by the architecture students of the RWTH University in Aachen. The event took place in the Stadtsaal, a self-build project designed and executed by students of the Department of Building Theory and Design of the RWTH Aachen University to make the disused subway staircase of the Kurhausstraße usable. There were all kinds of artworks by different artists, four different djs joined us throughout the day and there were also live tattoos! The event was a success and most importantly, we had a great time! 🎉
