Flower and The Serpent - Chapter 26 - Frizzystories - ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 | JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken (2024)

Chapter Text

You gasped, sword shaking in your hand, as Rohan cried those words out to you. Kill Jotaro? You'd been dreaming about this for months, but now that the sword was in your hand, it suddenly felt alien and strange to you. That wondrous kiss didn't help either, lowering your defences and making you realise that yes- you were head over heels in love with this evil, wonderful, wicked, amazing man. Jotaro looked down at the huddle of cops in riot gear at the foot of the crane, and sighed softly to himself.

"So this is where it all ends." He sighed.

"Jotaro, don't say that! I... We can get you a lawyer, you might be able to live!" You said, tears dribbling from your eyes. But Jotaro just sadly shook his head, pointing down to the police below.

"They'll open fire if we don't. I had this prophecy telling me I'd rule Tokyo until fish rained down from the sky- and looks below us." You looked down, to see crates of frozen fish dripping out of the shipping container, stinking to high heaven despite the cool, fragranced night air.

"It's over for me, y/n. I have no more allies left, no way to escape. And even if they let me live- I'll rot away in prison for the rest of my life. I'll either get shanked in a prison fight or slowly go insane."

"We can run away together! Please, Jotaro, don't make me do this!" You wept, struggling to keep a grip on your blade. You had a vision of the two of you making a run for it, hand in hand. You'd get new identities, get married, and run away to live together in happiness, just like that dream you'd had. Your bleeding ankle was throbbing with pain, and your kimono trailed in the wind whipping off the harbour waters, chilling you to the bone. Jotaro closed the gap between you, his icy grey eyes gazing into yours, and he kissed you very softly on the lips. And then, he looked you in the eye, and smiled that cunning, wicked smile you had grown to love.

"Would you run to the ends of the earth with me?" He asked, tracing a finger along your cheek. His fingers were warm, strong, slightly calloused, and you'd grown to know their feel on every part of your body, inside and out.

"I'd run away to the stars if we had a rocket, JoJo." You replied, gazing into his eyes. The shipping container swayed slightly in the night breeze, and Jotaro clutched your hand tightly in his as he slid Dio's katana into his sheath.

"I'm going to do something risky now, y/n, but if it succeeds, we'll both be free. We can run away, drive off into the sunset like an old American movie and live the high life."

"An old movie... I like that." You smiled, having thoughts of a new life in America, out in the west. Roadside diners and drive-in cinemas, funny little museums and curious stores on desert highways. Flat mountain dew, the soft layer of sandy desert dust on your suncream-soaked skin, frybread from a food truck, and making love on the sun loungers of a sh*tty motel when everyone was asleep. Cherry flavoured lube and cheap red drugstore lipstick. New names, and a new life for the both of you.

"And if we fail?" You teased.

"Either we fall to our deaths or get shot full of lead slugs. That, or a several dozen ton shipping container falls on us and kills us both. Are you in?"

Death or freedom. The pendulum could swing either way, but you knew what you wanted so dearly. Deep down you knew this was a stupid idea, but you didn't care.

Nobody could ever love you the way Jotaro Kujo could, and you feared an alternative future- sitting alone in bed as your ungrateful husband you didn't even love anymore "worked late" for the fourth time this week, and you were left home alone to wrangle the screaming kids. You didn't even care that you may never have a "normal" life, you'd get to spend it with the only man who'd ever made you feel alive. Tonight had been the most adrenaline you'd felt in your lifetime, and you wanted to spend every last minute you had with the man who made you feel this way.

"I'm in." You said.

Jotaro drew his sword, and walked around the container, making a few slashes here and there on the tethers of the cables, but not enough to cut them. He then wrapped his arm around your waist, and reached down, grabbing the sliced cable from where it trailed from the fourth corner of the unbalanced shipping container.

"What's he doing?" Rohan gasped. "Is he trying to kill himself? Hold fire! Don't let y/n get shot, he could be trying to take her with him!" Jotaro stepped back from the corner- then dashed forward, feet rattling the metal of the shipping container. He jumped off, grip tight on you as he used the cable to swing in mid air. The crane's cables were made so that they could carry up to 50 tonnes, but with one snapped and the others damaged, they weren't up for the job. There was a terrible ripping sound as one tether tore free, and the whole shipping container swung dangerously to one side. Rohan's men screamed and ran for cover as it swung towards them, you and Jotaro being thrown with it. He landed on his feet, and caught you deftly. As if by sheer dumb luck, the final cables tore on the container, and it came crashing to the ground, crushing a police truck as it did so. Rohan ducked for cover, and by the time that the cops had fumbled for their weapons, you and Jotaro were inside his car and speeding off.

"JoJo!" Kakyoin cried, watching you drive away in the shotgun seat, becoming smaller and smaller as the two of you left him behind.

"We did it!" You cried, wanting to hug Jotaro but then deciding that maybe hugging the driver of a sports car going at top speed through a crowded city wasn't the best idea. You were going at 120mph, the road rushing past beneath you as sirens filled the air. Every surviving police vehicle in Tokyo was being alerted to you and Jotaro being on the run, and you could hear the chopper closing in.

"She's no longer a civilian, she's an accomplice to crime! I saw her kill Dio, we didn't order that! Shoot them down!" Rohan screamed into his radio, climbing into the driver's seat of one of the surviving cars from the quay fight. The container had crushed five cars beneath it, and several officers were injured, but Rohan didn't even think of that. He was hellbent on revenge against that stupid, lying bitch who'd betrayed him! You'd crossed the Rainbow bridge, and were now speeding through Minato city and past Shiba park, the Tokyo tower glowing overhead. The sirens got louder and louder as the squad cars closed in, Rohan at the wheel of the lead one and looking infuriated. He looked like he wanted to hunt you down, rip off your heads, and stick them on the wall above his mantle piece.

"I WANT ALL UNITS AFTER THEM! JOTARO KUJO DIES TONIGHT!" He screamed, so loud that even you could hear it.

"Take the wheel, babe." Jotaro said. You leaned over and grabbed it as he pulled the machine gun out the glovebox, and leaned out the driver's side window.

"Yare yare..." He muttered to himself as he opened fire, tearing through the window of a patrol car. The helicopter swooped low, and Jotaro groaned, before angling his gun up. The pilot screamed as he was shot full of bullets, losing control of the joystick and sending the helicopter into a tailspin. It spiralled out of control, before hitting the Tokyo tower and exploding into a ball of bright vermilion flame. The iconic spire creaked and tilted, and you saw Tokyo flare a burning orange in the wing mirrors.

"f*ck!" Rohan gasped, gripping the steering wheel tighter until his knuckles turned white. Jotaro just reloaded, and kept firing. Yes, the cops had another chopper, but it would take time for it to be airborne and on the way from the airport. A few police cars pulled back, presumably to set up road blocks on the roads out of Tokyo and try to bottleneck you inside the city, leaving just three cars chasing you. You swerved, driving into Azabujuban, losing a car as you roared through the suburban area. Rohan grabbed his mobile phone, and called a number he wished he didn't have to call.

"Mayor Araki?"

"Yes, Kishibe? Have you caught that mobster yet?"

"No! He's... He's on the run! Permission to authorise the air force?"

"Air force? I'm not the prime minister, this is just one man. I can't let military planes fly over suburban areas!"

"Some help you are." Rohan sapped, closing his phone. He stepped on the accelerator, as you swerved around the train station, and shot out of Juban like a cork out a bottle.

Jotaro took the wheel again, expertly drifting over the Shibuya scramble crossing, tourists and salarymen out late jumping aside and running from him. He span the wheel, hurtling down alleyways as he glared dead ahead. Jotaro knew Tokyo like a map, but he could never return here, not after this chase. He didn't even care, though- he could spend the rest of his life with you that way, somewhere far away and sunny. He turned on the radio, just as a traffic update came in.

"Citizens are to know that all roads out of Tokyo are closed, and all flights have been grounded for the foreseeable future. This is due to Yakuza boss Kujo being on the run, in an attempt to catch him." All across Tokyo, roads were being closed and convoys of armed police were manning them. The only thing allowed in or out were ambulances, and radios all across the city blared with warnings.

"f*ck! They'll be raining down on us!" Jotaro yelled. "How the f*ck are we meant to get out?"

Rain... Rain... Rain!

You suddenly had an idea.

"Jotaro, can you get to the Saitama prefecture? I've got a plan." You said.

"A plan?"

"The storm tunnels! We get into them and drive out the city into Chiba, then into Ibaraki."

Jotaro grinned, and floored the accelerator.

"If this works, y/n, I swear to God I'll marry you once we get fake identities." He said.

"And if we fail?"

"We'll probably both die."

You sped into Saitama, before swerving left and into an industrial area, losing Rohan in the process. You jumped out of the car, and opened up one of the big gates that covered the entrance to the storm drain tunnels. It was big enough to drive a car into, so Jotaro did exactly that, and you closed it after him. By the time the helicopter caught up you were gone, speeding away through the mercifully empty storm drains. You had good headlights and the openings from street level let in the neon lights, giving you enough light to drive by. Jotaro had a sat nav installed in his car, and a full tank of petrol, so you just followed the roads via the storm drains beneath them. Rohan had driven straight past the industrial estate, and was currently scouring Saitama for any trace of Jotaro, not knowing that he was laughing his head off as he drove past beneath Rohan's feet.

"We made it! We made it, y/n, you crazy thing! I knew you were the one for me- now we just have to drive away to freedom."

"We might have to ditch the car once we reach Ibaraki." You suggested, kicking your feet up on the dashboard.

"I'll hotwire one. I suppose I don't have a gang anymore... But I have you, and that's what counts. And I've still got criminal contacts, so I can get us some fake IDs too, and I'll get myself some plastic surgery. I love you, y/n..."

"Here's to our new lives." You smiled, as you drove off underneath the city.

The town of Ibaraki is fairly small. Nothing very notable happens there, so a few of the local residents were surprised to find a young couple sleeping in an old car in an all-night car park. It turned out that they were an engaged couple on a road trip, and that their names were Mr and Mrs Qujoh, and that he was a marine biologist. At least that's what their passports said when they checked into the hotel for a few nights. They were an odd couple, that was true, but they were quiet and polite, and not the sort to get wrapped up in crime.

That afternoon, Mr Qujoh visited the hospital, and got a quote on plastic surgery for him and his wife. He agreed to a date, and they both paid in cash.
